Man Charged With Attempted Shooting in Meriden

The alleged attempt occurred on May 18.

A man turned himself into police and was charged with attempting to shoot a person on Hobart Street on May 18.

Cameron Acevedo was charged with first-degree criminal attempt of assault, criminal posession of a firearm, first-degree reckless engangerment, unlawful discharge, and second-degree breach of peace.

He was held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Acevedo is believed to have left the area because he wasn’t seen for several days after the incident.
