Man Charged In Meriden Kidnapping: Police

A man is facing numerous charges after police say he forced a victim into a car Monday afternoon.

MERIDEN, CT — A man was charged following a reported kidnapping Monday afternoon, according to police. Cameron Acevedo, 28, was charged with second-degree kidnapping, criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree unlawful restraint, first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, possession of a high-capacity magazine, and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Police received the call at 1 p.m. for a report of a possible kidnapping at 138 Broad St. Police learned that the victim was forced into a white four-door car.

The victim was a missing person, and police notified surrounding towns and State Police.

Police located the victim and suspect in Wallingford. Police said the victim was found safe and Acevedo was taken into custody.

He was held on $750,000 bond.
