Man At Meriden Library Claims To Raise Money For Terrorists

Police are investigating after a man made terrorist threats and claimed to be raising money for Al-Qaeda.

MERIDEN, CT - A man at the library Monday claiming to be collecting money for Al-Qaeda and making terrorist threats, the Meriden Record-Journal reported. The man was in the library causing a disturbance and then left. He was followed by a security guard who obtained his car's license plate number.

Library patrons were asked to leave shortly thereafter. Police scanned the building and deemed it safe. The library opened as usual Tuesday and the incident is under investigation. To sign up for Meriden breaking news alerts and more, click here.
