Meriden Assistant Principal Arrested in Southington
The assistant principal has been placed on leave.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — An assistant principal at Lincoln Middle School in Meriden has been placed in leave after her arrest for a protective order violation, authorities said.
On Wednesday at 6:35 p.m., the Southington Police Department responded to a residence on
Prospect Street for a reported protective order violation. Based on the investigation, Heather Verdi, 48, of the Plantsville section of Southington and a Lincoln assistant principal in Meriden, was charged with violation of a protective order, police said.
Verdi was released after posting a $20,000 surety bond and was to appear in Bristol Court Friday.

Verdi allegedly returned to a residence she was prohibited from visiting and while at the residence an argument ensued and a person there contacted police, a report indicates.
There were no reports of physical violence during this incident, police said.
