Meriden Families to Benefit from Computer Donation to Concepts for Adaptive Learning

First Niagara donates 300 computers to be refurbished and donated to qualifying families.

Concepts for Adaptive Learning (CfAL) announced today it has received a donation of 300 gently-used computers from First Niagara for its parent computer program. The computers will be refurbished by CfAL staff and distributed to qualified families in New Haven, Hartford, Bridgeport, Meriden and Waterbury.

Over the past 12 years, CfAL has provided training and gently-used computers to more than 3,100 Connecticut families through its signature parent computer program. This crucial program is designed to increase technology literacy among parents in an effort to increase parent involvement in their children’s education. CfAL provides parents with basic computer training, in addition to a gently-used family computer and technical support.

“Last year, CfAL received a total of 374 computer donations; First Niagara’s single donation this year will provide enough computers to cover our parent program’s needs for nearly an entire year,” said Curtis Hill, Executive Director of CfAL. “We cannot thank them enough for this tremendous donation and for being a caring community partner.”
