Meriden Man Accused of Stealing $20K in Jewelry from Home

An exterminator is facing a felony larceny charge in connection with the theft of more than $20,000 worth of jewelry that Glastonbury Police say was swiped from a local home.

According to a police report, it was in August that a resident reported the jewelry theft. At the time, “The resident suspected (the exterminator) as being responsible for the theft since he was working for a pest control company and was the only person who had access to the jewelry.”

An investigation revealed that the worker, identified as Eric. C. Wallace, 32, of 156 Camp St., Meriden, sold most of the jewelry at local pawn shops.

Police obtained an arrest warrant and located Wallace at his Meriden residence on Oct. 16. He was arrested on a first-degree larceny charge. Wallace was unable to post his $10,000.00 cash only bond police said.
