Meriden Man Arrested for Allegedly Falsely Reporting Home Invasion
The alleged invasion happened in July, the man turned himself in earlier this week.

A Meriden man was arrested by Southington police after he allegedly falsely reported he was the victim of a home invasion, according to police.
Joseph Sanchez, 26, turned himself in to police on Tuesday after learning there was an active warrant for his arrest, said Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz of Southington police.

The warrant alleges that Sanchez reported a false home invasion on July 24. Sanchez allegedly gave different accounts of what happened during the incident to investigators.
The investigation revealed that Sanchez allegedly contacted a prostitute for an encounter and during that encounter an electronic device from inside a residence was stolen.

The reported prostitute was never located or identified and no other witnesses were located by investigators.
Sanchez was arrested and charged with making a false statement in the second degree, falsely reporting an incident, patronizing a prostitute, criminal liability for acts of another in the sixth degree and interfering with police.
He was released on a promise to appear and is due in court Oct. 6.
