Meriden Man Charged with Sex Assault Attempt

The man turned himself in June 15 to Southington Police.

Police arrested a man on sexual assault charges for events that allegedly happened in Southington.

Edwin Perez, 30 of Meriden turned himself in June 15 after learning there was an active warrant for his arrest.

He was charged with criminal attempt to commit fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, unlawful restraint in the second degree and second-degree breach of peace.

He was held in lieu of $125,000 bail.

The warrant is sealed and many details aren’t being released publicly, police said. The event leading to the arrest reportedly occurred on May 23 in Southington.
