Meriden Man Swimming In CT River Goes Missing

Crews are continuing the search for the man, who has been missing since Sunday night.

EAST HADDAM, CT - Crews are searching for a man who went missing on the Connecticut River Sunday at 6 p.m., according to WFSB. The man went missing in the area of the Hadlyme Ferry and Gillette Castle State Park in East Haddam.

The missing swimmer is a 42-year-old man from Meriden, WFSB reported.

Authorities also said the man was swimming with a friend and some children when he did not resurface.

According to Fox 61, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection officials said the area is not designated for swimming, as the water is over thirty feet deep.
