Meriden Man Traveled To Wallingford To Sell Drugs: Police
Police found drugs, guns and counterfeit bills while executing a search warrant on the man's home. 4 young children were also at the home.
MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden man accused of selling crack cocaine in Wallingford was arrested Wednesday following a long investigation, according to police. The Wallingford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit has been investigating Joshua Gonzalez, 23, over the past several months and police say he would travel to Wallingford to conduct his drug deals. Police obtained a search warrant for Gonzalez and his Meriden residence as a result of the investigation, according to Lt. Michael Colavolpe.
The warrant was served, with the assistance of the Meriden Police Department’s SWAT Team and Narcotics Unit, at Gonzalez’s home on Foster Court in Meriden on Wednesday (Aug. 1). Police seized two semi-automatic pistols, approximately a ½ ounce of cocaine, cutting agent, digital scale, packaging for heroin and approximately $1,000 in cash, according to Colavolpe.
Colavolpe said numerous counterfeit $100 bills were also found in the residence. Four young children, including a 2-month-old, were inside the home while the warrant was being served, according to Colavolpe. Gonzalez has previous convictions for drug-related offenses and is prohibited from possessing pistols, Colavolpe said.

Gonzalez was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, criminal possession of a pistol, risk of injury to a minor, first-degree forgery and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was detained on a $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Aug. 15.
