Meriden Parking Lot, Not Building, Reportedly Used by Amazon
The online retailing giant only wants some parking spaces.

MERIDEN, CT — Online retailing giant Amazon is leasing the use of more than 300 parking spaces at the former Meriden Lowe's store lot for off-site employee parking, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.
But Amazon only wants to use the parking spaces, meaning the vacant 146,000-square-foot store, which was closed in 2012, will remain shuttered.
Amazon has fulfillment centers in Wallingford and Windsor, both of which are slated to receive an influx of seasonal employees this holiday season. The Wallingford site is only minutes from the former Lowe's lot, and the company will shuttle employees back and forth, according to the publication.
