Meriden Police Arrest Suspect in Gravel Street Shooting

The shooting occurred Tuesday evening.

Meriden, CT - A suspect has been arrested in a shooting that took place Tuesday evening, June 21, on Gravel Street in Meriden.

Dejour Ford, 19, was apprehended Thursday in New Britain and was scheduled to be turned over to Meriden police this afternoon. The circumstances surrounding the arrest were not disclosed.

Police said Ford shot a 23-year-old man several times Tuesday, but the victim was able to drive himself to the hospital, which notified police it was treating a gunshot victim, reports WTNH-TV

Ford will be charged with:

  • Assault in the First Degree
  • Criminal Use of a Firearm
  • Carrying a pistol without a Permit

He will be held on a $250,000 court-set bond, and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning.
