Meriden Police Det. Mike Siegler Dies of Cancer

MERIDEN, CT - Det. Mike Siegler, a longtime veteran of the Meriden Police Department, died Wednesday morning following a long fight against cancer.

A GoFundMe page, established in 2015 by his daughter, Ashley, says Det. Siegler most recently was diagnosed with Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Sarcoma in 2009.

The Meriden Record-Journal dates his cancer back to 1987.

In the below post on its Facebook page, the department paid tribute to Siegler with a powerful police symbol of mourning, and dozens of members of the force, friends and others wrote condolence messages.
