Meriden Police Establish Safe Zone For Online Purchase Exchange

Meriden Police announce a Purchase Exchange Location for residents making online in-person transactions.

MERIDEN, CT — Meriden Police have established a safe meet-up spot for an Internet Purchase Exchange Location. The lobby of the Meriden Police Department, 50 W. Main Street, can be utilized as a spot to meet for online purchases, police announced on Tuesday. The lobby is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is parking on the street in front of the police department.

“If you're buying items online via sites like Craigslist, Let It Go, Offerup, or any online in person transaction it is recommended to meet in a public place,” police said in a post on Facebook. “All you need to do is show up in the lobby. You do not need to call or make an appointment. When you walk in you will see an Officer. Let them know you are there to meet with somebody and you can go about with your transaction.”
