Meriden Police Investigating Woman's Death
Police say the 33-year-old woman was found unresponsive and later died at an area hospital.

MERIDEN, CT — Meriden police are investigating the death of Vanessa Gonzalez, 33, who was found unresponsive early Monday and later died at an area hospital.
At 4:55 a.m. Monday the Meriden Police responded to the rear of 234 Sherman Avenue for some type of medical call in which a woman was reported to be in need of medical attention, police said. The caller reporting this was an anonymous male who happened to be passing by on foot when he noticed the female slumped over, police said.
Once on scene, members of the Meriden Fire Department as well as local paramedics from Hunter’s Ambulance Service were already providing medical aid as the female was unresponsive, police said. The female, Vanessa Gonzalez, 33, was later pronounced deceased at a local area hospital, police said.

At the time of this release it does not appear as if the victim died as a result of a crime but rather some type of medical condition, police said.
