Meriden Police Search for Convenience Store Thieves

Recent break-ins have occurred in Meriden and Berlin.

MERIDEN, CT — Recent break-ins at convenience stores in Meriden and Berlin have police in both communities on the hunt for the thieves, according to authorities.

Cartons of cigarettes were reported stolen from the Berlin Convenience and Deli on Mill Street on Aug. 7, and a similar theft occurred the same night at a convenience store on Berlin Turnpike in Meriden, reports the Meriden Record-Journal. Thieves broke into the stores by prying open a door at each location.

A pickup truck, spotted in surveillance video, is believed to have been used in at least one - if not both - of the break-ins.
