Meriden Teen Accused of Stealing Cadillac Escalade
Hamden police arrested the teen and a 19-year-old man, who was driving the vehicle, early Friday morning.

Hamden police arrested a 19-year-old and a 16-year-old for allegedly stealing a Cadillac Escalade that was reported stolen in Meriden.
Police responded to a Fourth Street address early Friday morning (Oct. 24) on the report of a burglary-in-progress, according to a police press release.
Investigation revealed that an individual parked a stolen motor vehicle in front of a Fourth Street home and then walked into the backyard, while in the possession of a flashlight, according to police. Moments later, the individual entered the stolen vehicle and drove away.

Officer Tim Brown responded to the area and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The operator of the vehicle, Dajauhn Correa, was promptly arrested.
Correa was in the possession of a knife and a flashlight. A 16-year-old passenger, from Meriden, was also arrested. He too was in the possession of a knife and a flashlight.

Correa, 19, was arrested on a charge of first-degree larceny and was detained at police headquarters on a $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Nov. 9.
The 16 year-old Meriden resident was also charged with first-degree larceny. He was released to the custody of his father. He is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in Middletown on Nov. 9.
