Meriden Woman Shot in Leg During Altercation
The incident occurred Saturday night and is under investigation.

Meriden Police are investigating a shooting that happened Saturday night, WFSB reports.
According to the news channel, the shooting occurred at 7:30 p.m. at 291 Center St. When police arrived on the scene, they found an 18-year-old woman who had been shot in the leg.
The woman was shot at least once and may have suffered additional wounds to her legs, NBC Connecticut reports. She was taken to a hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

The Meriden Record Journal reported that witnesses at the scene heard a large fight happening between roughly 25 people and heard two to three gunshots coming from the driveway of the Center Street Home.
The woman said she knew the man who shot her but only by his nickname. Police are trying to identify the suspect.
