Motorcycle Operator Killed In Crash In Meriden: Police
The accident occurred on Sunday night.

MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden man was killed when he was thrown from his motorcycle after striking a curb on Sunday night, according to police. Emergency crews responded to the area of Cook Avenue and New Hanover Avenue shortly after 9 p.m. on Sept. 17 on the report of a crash involving a motorcycle.
Police said that preliminary investigation found that a 2002 Harley Davidson Motorcycle was traveling south on Cook Avenue approaching the intersection of New Hanover Avenue when the motorcycle veered off to the right side of the roadway and struck the curb.
The operator, 47-year-old Edward Delucia of Meriden, was thrown from his motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. (To sign up for Meriden breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Witnesses have told police that another motorcycle may have been riding with Delucia, however, that motorcycle left the scene prior to police arrival.
The case is being investigated by the Meriden Police Accident Reconstruction Unit. Anyone who may have information or witnessed this crash is asked to call Officer Mark Gibbs at 203-630-6201.
