Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Crash: Meriden Police
The motorcyclist was injured in a crash late Saturday night in Meriden, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash Saturday night in Meriden, according to police.
Police received several 911 calls around 11 p.m. on June 25 reporting a motorcycle crash at the Valero Gas Station at 396 Cook Avenue.
Responding officers found a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on its side with the male operator ejected from it, according to officials. The operator wasn’t wearing a helmet, police said.

The Meriden Fire Department and Hunter’s Ambulance arrived and began treating the man for head injuries, according to police.
The man was taken to Hartford Hospital and was listed in critical condition as of Sunday morning, police said.

“After speaking to witnesses on scene and viewing video surveillance in that area, it appears that the male was traveling south on Cook Avenue and unable to negotiate a slight curve in the roadway,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “He skidded onto the sidewalk, then into the parking lot of Valero Gas Station. Speed may have been a contributing factor in this case. There were no other vehicles involved in this incident.”
