Naugatuck Man Accused of Waving Box-Cutter, Bribing Officer During Robbery at Mall
The incident occurred at Westfield Meriden Mall.

A Naugatuck man is facing charges after police say he attempted to steal watches from a Meriden mall, the Record-Journal reports.
According to the paper, the man brandished a box cutter at mall security and also threatened to kill a police officer.
Police responded to the report of a shoplifter who fled on foot around 2:30 p.m. on Monday at Westfield Meriden Mall, the paper reports. Police caught up with William Quinones, 34 who initially gave police a fake name and even offered police a bribe to let him go.

Quinones was charged and is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
