New Affordable Housing Going Up In Downtown New London

NEW LONDON, CT — A new affordable housing option will soon be available in downtown New London, according to WTNH News-8. Vessel Technologies is building a modular apartment building on a Bank Street site that's sat vacant for nearly 30 years.

The five-story building can be completed at a fraction of the cost of a traditional construction project and in less time as many of the pieces are prefabricated. The project could be complete by the end of July.

One-bedroom units are expected to cost $1,600 to $1700 monthly, which is 80% of the market rate.
