New Vision Sign With Papercut Recordings, Release 'I Am A Muse' (themosh.net) — Fans of heavy music in Meriden can look forward to Hudson Valley post‑hardcore band New Vision playing Grace's Place on Nov. 6 as part of their newly announced tour. The group just signed with Papercut Recordings and released a single, "I Am A Muse," with a high‑energy video. Their fall schedule includes club dates across the Northeast, but Meriden gets one of the few Connecticut stops.
   

2. Middlebury man charged with federal fraud, money laundering (bee-news.com) — Meriden residents are learning that a former executive director of the Meriden Housing Authority has been federally indicted on fraud and money laundering charges tied to a multimillion‑dollar loan he allegedly took without board approval. Prosecutors say he used housing-related nonprofit accounts to secure the funds and then routed some money for personal investments and his home mortgage, while also involving Groton housing entities. He has pleaded not guilty and is free on bond pending trial.
   

3. East Granby man, juvenile arrested in $34k Wallingford check fraud scheme, police say (myrecordjournal.com) — A Wallingford check‑fraud investigation that allegedly stole more than $34,000 has led to charges against a 23‑year‑old East Granby man and a juvenile, with the adult suspect due in Meriden Superior Court on Oct. 7. Police say stolen business checks were forged, deposited through multiple accounts, and funneled via financial apps, with the juvenile allegedly promised $5,000 to help. Both now face money‑laundering, larceny, forgery, and ATM‑fraud charges.
   

4. Obituary: Ronald Joseph Paskavitz (actonexchange.org) — A longtime Friendly's manager once lived and worked in Meriden, where he helped launch a management training program after an early corporate career in New York. The obituary traces his move from Meriden to Massachusetts, highlighting decades of family life, community service, theater roles, and his deep devotion to loved ones and faith, along with details for an upcoming memorial service.
