New Catholic Charities CEO is Meriden Born-and-Bred
A graduate of Platt High School, Nesci still has ties to the Silver City.

As a little girl attending Our Lady of Mt. Carmel elementary school, Lois Nesci had no idea her Catholic school education was preparing her for a career with the Catholic Church. But now she says she understands that her education was building a foundation for her life.
Recently, the former Meriden resident was named the chief executive officer of the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Hartford. She will replace Rose Alma Senatore, who will continue to work as director for the agency.
“This is such a great opportunity to serve the Catholic Charities and the Catholic Church,” says Nesci. “I truly identify with their mission.”

The agency is the largest non-governmental provider of human services in Connecticut, and each year helps 30,000 people of all faiths. Some of those services include adoption, early childhood education, and mental health issues.
Nesci has been working with the agency for the past nine years.

Although she now lives in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts, Nesci says she has many fond memories of Meriden. She makes frequent trips back home to visit her friends and family- which include two cousins with the Meriden police department (officers Sal and Rob Nesci.)
Nesci graduated from Platt High School in 1981, and went on to earn a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Saint Joseph College in West Hartford, where she currently serves as a member of the board of trustees.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling throughout New England.
