New City Manager Hired In Meriden

MERIDEN, CT — Former City Council Majority Leader Brian Daniels was hired this week as the new city manager following an 8-4 vote by the City Council, according to the Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports the vote was split along party lines with the Democratic majority supporting Daniels, and Republicans and We the People Candidate Bob Williams voting no.

The “no” votes said they were opposed to the process, and favored a national search for candidates, according to the Record-Journal.

Daniels fills the vacancy left by former City Manager Tim Coon’s resignation after he went on medical leave following an incident with police.
