NICO'S LEMONADE STAND to open for 6th year at 109 Northwest Drive, Plainville July 18th

Benefiting Make-A-Wish Connecticut

On July 18th, Nico’s Annual Lemonade Stand will again be on the streets of Northwest Drive of Plainville Connecticut to raise money for Make-A-Wish Connecticut. This is the 6th year that young Nico will be setting up his table at the end of his driveway at 109 Northwest Drive in Plainville, CT and selling lemonade as well as other summer treats, all with an effort to continue in his mission to grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions

Last year, Nico set his sights set on $10,000 --- the average cost of a wish in Connecticut. “I want to be able to send more kids and their families to Disney World”, said the young philanthropist in his early years of starting his organization and efforts, back when he was only 5 years old. His vision was accomplished, and he surpassed his goal with great success.

At that age, 6 years ago, Nico decided to open up a simple lemonade stand on his street. But instead of keeping the money he raised, he wanted to give his profits to Make-A-Wish, to “send a kid his age to Walt Disney World” in his words. Five years later, Nico has raised over $30,000 for Make-A-Wish Connecticut and granted many wishes for kids throughout the state.

In October of last year, the Connecticut chapter nominated Nico and his Lemonade Stand for an award at the national level during the organizations national conference in Phoenix, the prestigious Youth Engagement Award. This annual accolade recognizes outstanding philanthropy & entrepreneurship by young supporters in the community and applauds their sense of leadership and inspiration to those around them. Nico’s Lemonade Stand was selected from 61 chapters of nominations, and on April 25th he accepted his award from Make-A-Wish Connecticut President & CEO Pam Keough in front of 650 guests at Mohegan Sun.

“We are so proud of Nico and not only the money he has raised for our organization, but the inspiration he has been to so many other young philanthropists in our community,” shared Pam Keough, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish Connecticut. “He has shown all of us that with vision, passion and dedication, anything is possible.”
