Alexander J. Rivera, 38, formerly of Meriden, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Born in Meriden on July 19, 1979, he was the son of Jacqueline Santiago-Rivera and her husband Luis Rivera and Juan Rivera and his wife Yvonne Rivera. Alex lost his battle to his disease and will be deeply missed by family and friends. He volunteered at the Jewish Synagogue in Middletown. He loved hiking and riding his bike. He was very spiritual, outgoing and he will be remembered as a very loving man, son, and brother by all.

Beside his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Cheenisa Rivera, Richard Rivera, Nathan Rivera, Dontavious Butler, Tony Aponte, Joshua Rivera and Athena Rivera. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Luisa Rivera, paternal grandfather, Jose Santiago Sr., many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Luis Antonio Rivera, paternal grandfather Nelson Rivera and maternal grandmother Iris Santiago.
