Obituary: Daniel T. Landry, 54, of Meriden

Dan, a graduate of Platt High School who received an Associate's degree from Post University, was a Lead Man at Pratt & Whitney.

Daniel T. Landry, 54, of Meriden, beloved husband of Susan (Werner) Landry, died suddenly, February 13, 2018 at his home. He was born in Meriden on June 22, 1963, a son of Martha (Dubois) Landry of Meriden and the late Claude Landry.

Dan was a graduate of Platt High School and received an Associate’s degree from Post University. He was a Lead Man at Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford. He loved traveling with his family, including a 25th anniversary trip to Las Vegas and a recent cruise to Bermuda. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and practical joker, and shared these passions with his son, identical twin brother Paul, and best friend Michael “Micky” Heath. Dan was exceptionally proud of his son Tommy, who completed a B.S. degree in Computer Science from UCONN in 2017 and is on his way to completing a Master’s degree.

In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by his son, Thomas D. Landry; his siblings and their spouses, Paul and Carol Landry, Gary and Deborah Landry, Louise Carey, Mary and Frank Soltesz, Gloria and Frank Viel; his nieces and nephews, Eric and Lindsay Landry, and their children, Stephanie Landry, Michael Soltesz, Samantha and Andrew Zajac, and Nicholas and Alex Viel; his mother-in-law, Audrey Norton and her husband, Ken Boudreau; his sister-in-law, Kim Bonatsos and her children, Brittany, Jimmy, and Tony. He was predeceased by, and likely currently casting a line with, his father, Claude Landry, nephew, Evan Landry, and brother-in-law, Robert Carey.

His family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Friday, February 16, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m. Committal Services at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden will be private. Dan had a special bond with his dogs, Pocket, Ollie, Carmie and Lilly. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
