Obituary: David Cassidy, 59, Of Meriden

MERIDEN, CT - David A. Cassidy, 59, died on November 18, 2018 after a brief illness. Born in Meriden on September 28, 1959, he was the son of the late James T. and Rose E. (Macri) Cassidy.

He was a current resident of Middletown, but was a longtime resident of Meriden. He graduated from Maloney High School, Class of 1978.

Dave served with the U.S. Army, Specialist 4th Class stationed in Augsburg, Germany. He retired after twenty years of service from the Department of Corrections. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. David was an avid sport fan of his beloved Red Sox and Celtics.

He is survived by his two brothers, James Cassidy and Marc Cassidy and his wife Paula; three nephews, Tyler, Conner, and Ryan Cassidy; a niece Chelsea Cassidy; two great aunts, Maryanne Cassidy and Shirley Macri. He is also survived by his beloved dogs Jack and Phin and will be reunited with his treasured dog Riley.

At David's request, there will be no calling hours. An Intention Mass in his memory will be held on Sunday, December 23rd, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels, Mt. Carmel Campus, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111. The John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden is entrusted with the arrangements.
