Obituary: Ethan Mychal-Oeun Heng, 6, of Meriden
He was the first grade "Mayor" of Israel Putnam Elementary School and the renowned UNO Champion to all that dare to compete.

Ethan Mychal-Oeun Heng, 6, of Meriden, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 28, 2018 after a courageous battle with DIPG, a rare form of brain cancer, in the comfort of his home surrounded by family, friends, and caregivers.
Born on September 29, 2011 to Catherine Balay and Samath Heng, he was the first grade “Mayor” of Israel Putnam Elementary School and the renowned UNO Champion to all that dare to compete. His compassion for those in need as well his contagious smile made him easy to love. Ethan loved spending time with family and friends, as well as fishing, playing baseball, animals, drawing, McDonald’s, Chuck E. Cheese, and he had a great love of music and playing arcades.

Besides his parents, Ethan is survived by his older siblings Jasmine Hernandez, Alexa Heng, and Kaysin Heng. He is also survived by maternal grandparents Lucy Cruz and Jose Soto; Miguel Balay and Maria Torres; paternal grandparents Oeun and Heather Heng, along with several loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
