Obituary: Guy R. Marchetti Sr. 87, of Meriden

Guy R. Marchetti Sr. 87, of Meriden, beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Prigitano) Marchetti for 63 years, died Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Masonicare surrounded by his loving family

Guy was born in Meriden on July 27, 1930, a son of the late Rosario and Jennie (Fidario) Marchetti.
He worked for J B Coggins Foundry and then as a park mason for the city of Meriden until his retirement.

He is survived by his son Guy R. Marchetti Jr. and his wife, Lisa; his daughter, Josephine Severini; his granddaughter, Christina Curnow and her husband, Jason; his grandson Nicholas Severini; his great granddaughters Shealynn Rose Curnow and Ava Curnow; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Dynder, and his brothers, Angelo, Samuel, Joseph, and Nicholas Marchetti, and his son-in-law, John Severini.

The family would like to thank the staff at Masonicare for the care and compassion they gave to Guy and his family during his stay there. They would also like to thank Dr. Anthony Lendino and his caring staff, Dr. Douglas Miller, and Dr. Rajani Nadkarni for their loving care.

Guy’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Tuesday, April 17, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. directly at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Meriden. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Meriden.
