Obituary: Heather Marie (Robinson) Payne, 36, of Meriden

Heather, a Maloney High School graduate, worked as an assistant manager for her family's Agway store for many years.

Heather Marie (Robinson) Payne, 36, of Meriden, wife of Jeremy R. Payne, passed away March 3, 2018 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Meriden on June 2, 1981, a daughter of Russell and Kathryn (Greenbacker) Robinson of Meriden.

Heather graduated from Maloney High School and earned an associate’s degree from Middlesex College. She worked as an assistant manager for her family’s Agway store for many years. She loved gardening, flowers, and was very active with the Durham Fair. She loved Winnie the Pooh and especially loved being with her nieces and nephews. She was a strong and courageous woman who fought a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis. She created Heather’s Angels Foundation after receiving a lung transplant, to assist other CF patients needing transplants.

In addition to her husband, Jeremy, and her parents, Russell and Kathryn, she is survived by her sister, Anna Kolodziej and her husband Aaron of Wallingford; her brother, Russell Robinson III of Meriden; her nieces and nephews, Aubrey and Jackson Kolodziej and Russell IV and David Robinson; her step-nieces, Amber and Emma Ostrander; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Heather’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Friday, March 9, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Meriden, 460 Broad Street, Meriden. Interment will be private. Gifts in her memory can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 306 Industrial Park Rd, Middletown, CT 06457.
