Obituary: Linda Gwara, 69, Of Meriden

MERIDEN, CT - Linda J. Gwara, 69, wife of Richard passed away on October 22, 2017 at home after a long illness. She was born in Meriden on April 17, 1948, daughter of the late Francis and Marion Burgess Moreau. She had resided in Meriden her entire life. She attended Platt high school. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church.

Linda lived an active lifestyle even later into her illness. Her talents included woodworking, painting, gardening, and decorating. She also enjoyed camping, singing, dancing, and going to the casinos. Lastly, she loved children, especially her grandsons.

Besides her husband Richard of over fifty years, she is survived by her daughter Michelle Armstrong and her husband Duane, her son Michael Gwara, two grandchildren, Kevin Armstrong and Kyle Armstrong, her sister Robin Macri and her husband Joseph, her brother Robert Moreau and his wife Marge. She is also survived by her niece Katie Parkhurst, nephews Ryan Macri and Matthew Macri and two brothers-in-law, Billy Gwara and his wife Jan Michaud and Jimmy Gwara.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday November 6, 2017 at 12 noon from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. Burial will be private. Friends may call prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, November 6, 2017. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
