Robert graduated from Orville H. Platt H.S. where he ran track, and later from Middlesex Community College. He worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 43 years as a Systems Auditor where he made many friends. He was very involved in the Meriden Softball League and coached his team “Classic Builders,” to many championships with “His Boys”. He also coached both of his son’s soccer teams and was an assistant coach for Samantha’s softball team for many years. He was, “The Coach”.

Bobby was a family man. Always being there for his wife, children, sisters, in-laws and friends. He volunteered at his children’s schools, from being a Cub Scout / Boy Scout Troop Leader at Roger Sherman, Troop #43, building sets at Maloney H.S., moving band equipment with “The Pit”, and being at his son’s soccer games, even if he had to leave work early! All of his children’s events made him so extremely proud.

Bobby was an annual volunteer at the Meriden Daffodil Festival where he was part of “The Crew” in which he helped set up and break down the stages for bands. He also previously served on the Vestry and Building Committee of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Meriden. Bobby did it all.

It brings great peace to our family knowing that he knew how much he was loved by us and by all his family and friends. He was a warrior, a fighter and our hero. He leaves behind countless treasured memories that we will cherish forever! Rest In Peace “Coach”! Job well done!

We would like to thank his doctors who fought right alongside him: Dr. Kahlon, Dr. Rock and Dr. Benson. As well as his special nurse at Dialysis, Celina, and the Fresenius Dialysis Center for all their kindness, professionalism and exceptional care provided to our Bobby.

In lieu of flowers, Bobby would want your support to help keep Hubbard Park a place for future generations to enjoy, like he did. A fund to achieve this task in his memory has been set up and there will be an annual 5K road race. Donations may be sent c/o Marilyn Lynes, 16 Yale Acres Rd., Meriden, CT 06450.
