Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car: Rock Hill Police

ROCKY HILL, CT — A driver has been charged after a pedestrian was fatally struck Sunday night, police said.

At 8:42 p.m. Sunday, the Rocky Hill Police Communication Center received a 911 emergency call reporting a motor vehicle collision on Glastonbury Avenue.

Rocky Hill Police Officers, along with the Rocky Hill Fire Department, Rocky Hill Volunteer Ambulance, and Aetna Ambulance, all responded.

Police found a car vs. pedestrian collision and began emergency medical aid. The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance and was later pronounced deceased. The deceased is not being identified at this time pending notification of next of kin, police said.

The operator of the vehicle remained on scene. Sarah Bezdelovs, 23, of Rocky Hill, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, police said.

The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad assumed the investigation. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information regarding this motor vehicle collision is asked to contact Rocky Hill Police Officer Brian Carroll.
