Outdoor Pops Concert, July 5, 7:30 PM
Wallingford Symphony gives free performance on grounds of Choate Rosemary Hall a free concert. Bring a picnic and folding chairs.
Wallingford Symphony Pops Concert will feature Susan Yankee, Soprano and Eric Dillner, Tenor on Sunday, July 5 at 7:30 PM. The 48 musician ensemble under the direction of director Philip Ventre will perform on the grounds of the Choate Rosemary Hall chapel. This annual celebration is sponsored by the Wallingford Parks and Recreation and Wadsworth Family Foundation.
Musical selections include patriotic selections and television and movie montages. Featured vocalist Susan Yankee has performed at Carnegie Hall and has experience as a mezzo-soprano and soprano at venues across the country. Eric Dillner began his career as a tenor with the New York City Opera and currently is the Shoreline Arts Alliance CEO/Executive Director. Phil Ventre is the symphony founder and has led the symphony for the past 41 years. He is on the faculty at Choate Rosemary Hall.
Spectators are encouraged to come early and bring a picnic. In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be moved into the Choate Rosemary Hall chapel.
