Police Release Photo of Suspect in Sam's Store Stabbing and Robbery

Meriden Police released a photo from the security cameras of Sam's Food Store Tuesday afternoon, showing a man they say is the suspect in a violent midday robbery that happened there just before 1 p.m.

Police say they believe the man in the photo above stole a cash register from Sam's Food Store on West Main Street after slashing the face and neck of a clerk in his early sixties Tuesday afternoon. (Click HERE for the full story.) Police say the video shows the robbery.

Police describe the suspect as a man in his 20's or 30's, with light to medium skin, and medium to stocky build. They say he was wearing tan pants with a blue vest worn over a darker colored long sleeve shirt, a blue baseball cap with a tan brim and no logo, and red or orange sunglasses in the store, according to police spokesman Sgt. Darrin McKay.
