UPDATE: Meriden Police Seek Public's Help in Willow Street Shooting
The incident occurred early Monday afternoon.

Updated at 2:03 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016: Meriden police released the following information concerning Monday afternoon's shooting on Willow Street:
On Monday May 2, 2016, at approximately 12:28 P.M. the Meriden Police Department received a call reporting shots fired and that someone had been shot. On arrival Officers did locate one male victim (Unknown age at this time) who had been shot and struck one time. The male victim has since been transported to an area trauma hospital and at this time his condition is unknown.
This investigation is ongoing and police personnel are actively working the crime scene. At this time there is no suspect or suspects and it is not clear if the shooter was on foot or in a vehicle.

Updated at 1:37 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016: A man was shot Monday afternoon while he was standing in front of a house on Willow Street in Meriden, according to police.

The victim's medical condition was not immediately known, but he was being treated at an area hospital, writes the Meriden Record-Journal. His identity has not been released.
The circumstance surrounding the shooting, namely whether the gunman was in a vehicle or on foot, also was not known.
Police are continuing the investigation into the incident and reportedly are in the midst of interviewing potential witnesses.
Original story: MERIDEN, CT - A dozen police officers reportedly flooded the Willow Street neighborhood in Meriden Monday afternoon after receiving calls of shots fired in the area.
Details were not immediately available, but the Meriden Record-Journal writes that the call came in at about 12:45 p.m.
Police blocked off the street at the intersection of Olive Street, and one home on Willow Street was cordoned off behind police tape.
