Pregnant Woman, Boyfriend Located By K-9 Unit After Getting Lost While Hiking: State Police

MERIDEN, CT — A pregnant woman and her boyfriend were located by a Connecticut State Police K-9 team after getting lost while hiking in the Meriden/Middlefield area on Monday night, according to police.

At about 9 p.m. on June 26, Troop F in Westbrook received a call from a man who said his girlfriend was lost on a trail in Meriden/Middlefield area. “Troop I-Bethany was contacted for a K-9 Team (Tpr. R. Burke #303 & K-9 Cesar) to respond to locate the lost hiker,” state police said in a post on Facebook. “The boyfriend went to find the female on the trails & did so but, then was lost himself. Tpr. Burke & Cesar started the K-9 track at 9:47 p.m. & located the pair at 10:02 p.m.(15 minutes later). All were uninjured / safe & walked out of trail area by the CSP.
