Racist Email Investigated At High School In Meriden: State Police

The email was sent from a teacher's account to the entire staff and students in an apparent hacking incident, police said.

MERIDEN, CT — Connecticut State Police are investigating a racist email that was sent from one staff member to another staff member, along with the entire staff and students of Wilcox Technical High School in Meriden, in an apparent hacking incident.

Police said that the staff member’s email address was apparently hacked into at about 2:15 p.m. on Oct. 23.

“During that time an email was sent addressed to another staff member with the entire staff and students of Wilcox Tech CC’d,” state police said in an incident report. “The email made several racist remarks towards the staff member.”

The incident is under investigation with assistance from the State Police Computer Crimes Unit, according to the report.
