Shooting Sends 1 To Hospital: Meriden Police
Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Meriden over the weekend.

MERIDEN, CT — One person was hospitalized after an overnight shooting in Meriden on Sunday. Police responded to a report of shots fired on Springdale Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 15.
As officers were responding to the original report, police were notified that a gunshot victim arrived in the emergency room of MidState Medical Center. The victim was transferred to Hartford Hospital where he was treated for his injuries, according to Sgt. Christopher Fry.
“At this time we do not believe that the public is in any imminent danger,” Fry said in a statement. “As the investigation evolves we hope to more narrowly define a motive for this incident. Shell casings and other relevant evidence has been processed by our detective division who are also actively working to identify the shooter.”
