State Seeks Lifeguards for Waterfront Parks
Nine state parks in CT are looking to hire lifeguards this summer. Also find other summer or full-time employment on the Patch Jobs Board.

SHELTON, CT - The state's parks system is looking to hire lifeguards for this summer, particularly at Sherwood Island in Westport and Indian Well in Shelton, according to officials.
Connecticut lifeguards patrol both shoreline and inland beaches. "The State Parks Lifeguard Squad provides surveillance of designated swimming areas, administers first aid, and performs beach-related maintenance work and other park tasks as needed."
The state has 11 waterfront parks that require lifeguards, but only nine have available positions, according the the state Department of Energy & Environmental Protection's Facebook page. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and receive American Red Cross certification in Waterfront Lifeguarding.
