TD Bank in Meriden Robbed at Gunpoint

The suspect in Thursday morning's heist got away with an undetermined amount of cash, according to police.

Meriden, CT - A lone gunman robbed a TD Bank in Meriden of an undetermined amount of cash Thursday morning, according to police.

No injuries were reported in the 8:30 a.m. heist, and the suspect fled the bank, located at 733 East Main Street, on foot before police arrived.

The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the teller and handed over an unknown amount of cash, police said. Detectives are still at the bank investigating and processing the scene.

As for a description of the suspect, it appears that may be difficult.

"The suspect’s age and/or race are not known at this time as the male was completely concealed from head to toe making his race undetectable," Meriden Police Sgt. Darrin McKay wrote in a statement.

"This is an active investigation and anyone who may have any information as to the suspect’s identity is asked to contact Detective Dean Benoit at (203) 630-6297," McKay added.
