This Week's City Meetings - Update

A host of municipal meetings are slated to be held in Meriden this week - including a City Council meeting in which the city manager is set to unveil a proposed 2012-2013 budget, and a public hearing on the city's community development block grant.

Monday -

The City Council will meet at at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. Public comment on agenda items is set for 6:30, and the official meeting with start at 7 p.m. Councilors are slated to discuss a number of items, including the city manager's proposed budget, which will be unveiled.

Tuesday -

CANCELLED - The Flood Control Implementation Agency meeting scheduled for 7:30 a.m. in room 28 at City Hall was cancelled on Monday, March 5.

A Board of Education Policy Committee meeting will be held at 5 p.m. at the BOE building on Liberty Street. The committee is slated to discuss a proposed dress code, according to its agenda.

A Special Finance Committee Meeting is at 5:30 PM in Room 206, Council Chambers, City Hall. This is the first of several meetings focusing on the City Manager's proposed 2012-2013 budget. The Library and Health Department will present.

A Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at city hall in room 131.

The Board of Education will convene as a whole at 6 p.m. for an executive session, then hold a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the BOE building on Liberty Street.

The city's Design Review Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. in Room 131 at City Hall.

Wednesday -

The city's Conservation Commission is scheduled to meet at  6 p.m. in Room 28 at City Hall. 

An Inland Wetlands Watercourse Commission is slated for 6:30 p.m. in Room 131 at City Hall.

Thursday -

The Commission for Persons with Disabilities is slated to meet at 5:30 p.m. in Room 131 at City Hall.

The city's Human Services Committee is scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.

A public hearing regarding the city's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is at 6:30 P.M. at the Senior Center, 22 West Main Street. According to an announcement from the city, the hearing will cover:

  • the City of Meriden one-year and five-year community development needs and objectives and
  • the allocation of available CDBG funds and Substantial Amendment to the 2010-2015 Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development, Homeless section.

Friday -

No meetings scheduled.
