Undercover Meriden Cops Involved in Berlin Accident
Meriden police said the suspects drove off when two undercover narcotics officers tried to stop their car in Berlin.

Update: 4:41 p.m., Sept. 29:
Two undercover Meriden Police officers were involved in a crash on North Colony Road in Berlin on Monday afternoon after the suspects led the officers on a chase and struck a flatbed truck near the intersection of the Berlin Turnpike, according to reports.
According to NBC Connecticut, Meriden police said the suspects drove off when two undercover narcotics officers tried to stop their car in Berlin. They fled on to North Colony Road where they crashed into the truck and then rolled back into the police car. Police said the suspects ran but were caught a short distance away and are now hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

There wasn’t immediate word on whether the officers were injured.

Original story: 3:16 p.m. Sept. 29
A crash had closed North Colony Road in both directions at the Berlin Turnpike while emergency crews were on the scene Monday afternoon, according to Berlin police.
Police announced via Twitter the road was reopen at 3:15 p.m.
Shortly after 2 p.m., Berlin Police posted a Facebook notice that the road was closed and that a Meriden Police Department cruiser may have been involved. The department has since announced no police vehicles were involved.
It was not immediately known how many vehicles were in the crash or whether there were any injuries.
