On this Father’s Day/Flower Communion Sunday, we’ll hold up

“beloved community,” that sacred mantra of the late Dr. Martin Luther King,

Jr., as that to which we aspire in our hurting world.  We do so in part by

experiencing “the shelter of each other.”  For good reason, Rev. Jan’s

copy of the book by that title, authored by contemporary psychologist, writer,

and Unitarian Universalist, Dr. Mary Pipher, is dog-eared and coffee-stained. Drawing
on the dream of Dr. King and the wisdom of Dr. Pipher, we’ll explore these
compatible concepts as we celebrate a Flower Communion and Father’s Day.
The theme of this service was chosen by member Jane Dioguardi, who won the
service auction bid on the choice of a sermon topic and service focus! Please bring a few sprays of flowers from your yards and

gardens to share.
