Unitarian Universalist Church in Meriden - Worship Service - November 13, 2016 -

"Setting the Table" - Worship Leader: Rev. Dr. Jan Carlsson-Bull, Guest at Your Table Sunday - with Michael Milardo, UUCM liaison with UUSC

Worship Associate: Peg Kirkpatrick
As we approach the holiday of giving thanks and preparing a celebratory dinner of harvest and gratitude, how shall we set our tables? Beyond the best dinnerware and a platter with you-know-what, how about a small cardboard box with a slot in the top for coins and bills and images on all sides giving a glimpse of the justice partnerships made possible by our Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC)? We call this box our Guest at Your Table. Our youngsters will prepare them in their RE classes and distribute them at this service so that we might bring them home, place them on our dining tables, and fill them over the next many weeks. This is how we participate in the UUSC’s Guest at Your Table Campaign. Come join us in this worshipful invitation to set our tables with gratitude and generosity.
We’ll continue to celebrate community with a “Second Sunday Dinner” right after the service. Stay on and enjoy! Please bring a salad, entrée, or dessert to share.
