Is it a boy or a girl? Why either/or? The promise known and the peril faced by folks among us who are transgendered and folks who choose to move from the gender with which they were identified at birth are intimate realities that have become grist for strident discourse and overt violence in a a society driven by either/or gender assumptions. What are the horrific consequences of this polarization? What is the spiritual promise in transcending these culturally ingrained lines of gender? Come celebrate the gift of each of us becoming who we are.
