1 Hospitalized With ‘Life-Threatening’ Injuries After Motorcycle Vs. Car Crash In Middletown: PD

The driver of the car is facing multiple charges, including DUI, after fleeing the scene, according to police.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A motorcycle operator suffered life-threatening injuries Monday in a crash involving another vehicle at the intersection of Country Club Road and Higby Road, police said.

Life Star helicopter was requested for the motorcycle operator, who was being treated at Hartford Hospital as of Tuesday.

Police were summoned to the scene around 4:12 p.m. on Monday.

Police said the driver of the car fled the scene after being picked up by another vehicle.

The car’s passenger initially told officers she was driving the vehicle that struck the motorcycle, according to police.

However, investigators obtained video of the crash, and police determined a male was driving the car, with a female passenger, police said.

Both the car’s driver and passenger were arrested.

The car driver, Marco Jefferson Chamorro Cordova, 19, is charged with second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, first-degree reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer, driving under the influence, evading responsibility in an accident with serious physical injuries, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and failure to grant the right of way at an intersection.

The passenger, Diana Anton Peralta, 21, is charged with interfering with an officer.
