10 Displaced After 2-Alarm Fire In Middletown

Crews operated at the scene for several hours on Monday night, according to officials.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Ten people were displaced from their home after a two-alarm fire Monday night in Middletown, according to officials.

Crews responded to the fire on Old Road in the Westfield section of Middletown around 8 p.m. The City of Middletown firefighters and South Fire District firefighters provided assistance to Westfield.

“The house was situated at the top of a driveway 2,000+ ft long,” officials wrote on the South Fire District Firefighters IAFF Local 3918 union’s Facebook page. “Lack of hydrants in the area created difficult firefighting conditions. Polaris ATVs we’re used to shuttle crews and equipment to the fire scene. Units operated for around 5 hours.”
